v.0.1.0 Demo release - Eclipse Dawn


Hey everyone! 

A little delayed on this one. It turns out learning to 3D model in Blender, Rig & Animate, along with all the other bits that comes with that takes longer than 2 weeks - which was the original goal. This patch marks the first major milestone for Hunter's Hand, I've added new 3d modelled sprites & animations for all the forest creatures!  I wanted them to feel like they're hand-modelled stop-motion, hopefully that reads well enough in the end-pixelated-result.

Of course, the game is still in it's early stages, and I will likely update the models and animations for a few of these new enemies. There are still a lot of kinks to work out, both aesthetically and a few code based bugs that I'm still aware of, which I've been saving for the next major patch, summary below: 

0.2.0: Post-Demo Improvements – Crimson Bloom

Summary: Feedback takes center stage as I polish gameplay and introduce 15 new Radiant Defender cards. Enhancements include refining the tutorial, reworking the enemy intent system to mirror player card interactions for better functionality, re-rendering player and battle backgrounds, improving map aesthetics, and adding debug tools. Additionally, I’ll expand controls for controller and touch functionality where possible.

I'll be focusing mostly on refining and polishing everything already in game, and hopefully finish up the guardian & ancient models. I've already rendered out most of the new player animations, VFX & battle background, so I'll be able to start shipping these in the next few patches. I've been really surprised how long it took to render each frame of animation! Some of the heavier scenes have taken days to complete. I've picked up a few optimisation tricks over the past few weeks learning Blender, though, so it's only going to pick up pace from here on out.


I'll be taking a well-deserved break next week taking a trip to Asia for the first time! I'll aim to get one minor patch out before then with a few more improvements.

Anyway, let me know what you think about the design of the new enemies! I'd love to hear some feedback.
